The Summer Reading Challenge, organised by the Reading Agency, aims to promote reading over the summer holidays for children aged 1-12 to maintain reading levels, and it’s always really fun!
It runs from the 11th of July to the 12th of September.
When you sign up, you’ll be given a starter pack (with information about the challenge, space for stickers, and QR codes), a bookmark, and a Storytime Magazine, or a Mini Challenge pack for under-4’s.
This year you can complete 6 goals of your choice, and you’ll receive a sticker for each. When you have completed all six goals you will get a certificate and a wooden medal on a lanyard, or certificate and sticker for the Mini Challenge.
This year’s theme is ‘Read to the Beat’ and over summer we will have a range of creative activities including crafting, theatre and storytelling on this theme.
