Every month we’ll have a local author appearing in one of our libraries to chat about their writing careers and latest book releases. Each event will be held on the third Friday of the month (except December) from 2-3pm.

Authors in the Library - A Cosy Crime Conversation

We're really excited to have local authors Jean Burnett, Jayne Chard and Debbie Young join us at Keynsham Library!

Join us for an afternoon of charm, clues and community as three cosy crime authors share the stories behind their stories.

Expect lively conversation, gentle intrigue, and plenty of bookish warmth as they discuss crafting mysteries that comfort as much as they captivate.

The talk will be followed by a Q&A.

Jean is a historical fiction, turned cosy crime author. She is one of the founders of Malago Press, an indie publishers based in Bristol. Her first cosy crime novel A Brush with Death is filled with 1980s quirkiness.

Jayne started writing plays when she was eight years old , she went on to direct plays in the theatre and dramas on the TV. More Than Murder, published in 2025, marked her debut novel and launched her “edgy cosy crime series” – where sharp wit meets suspicious deaths. The Body that Floats is her latest novel and will be published in May 2026.
