Make Pom Pom Fairy Pegs

Learn how to make pom pom fairy pegs!

You will need:

  • You will need:
  • Scissors
  • Wool (yarn)
  • Card
  • Felt pens
  • Glue
  • Wooden ‘dolly’ pegs
  • Help from a grown up

To make:

  1. Paint (or colour in) the wooden pegs and leave to dry standing up
  2. When dry, decorate the face and body – you can use a tiny bit of glitter and glue if you have some!
  1. Draw two circles on the card- draw around something if it helps!
  2. Cut out the circles, then draw and cut out a smaller circle in the middle of each
  3. Place the circles together (if you hold them against the upright peg, they should be about half the size)
  1. Tie the yarn around the card, from inside to the outside
  2. Keep winding the yarn around the card, from the middle to the outside until it looks like a yarn doughnut!
  1. This is a tricky cutting bit! You need to put the tip of your scissors between the two pieces of card and snip around the edge
  2. Then, tie a piece of yarn around the middle of the pom pom – where it goes through the doughnut hole!
  3. Cut the card off the yarn and fluff up your pom pom!
  1. Trim and tidy up the pom pom
  2. Push the peg through the middle of the pom pom, so the head and feet stick out!
  3. Decorate some more; you can add glitter or wings!

Have fun!
