Mary Shelley was just 18 years old when she wrote the gothic horror book that spawned a whole genre of books, theatre and film.

While she, famously, invented the story in Geneva in a contest with Percy Bysshe Shelly, John Polidori and Lord Byron, she sat down and wrote the novel where you’re standing!

You can visit Bath’s Frankenstein Museum and Escape Rooms on Gay Street.

Just remember Frankenstein was the doctor, not the Monster!
