To make
- Make your Chrysalis by decorating the tube with tissue paper and glue and leave to dry. Tip: you could add green straw bits for sticks and leaf shaped tissue.
- On the lolly stick, draw a crunching, munching caterpillar going up the stick, and add the eyes. Tip: don’t make him too long – about a quarter of the stick is big enough!
- Using a template, or drawing freehand, draw and cut out a butterfly that is just the right size to come out of the end of your chrysalis. Decorate the wings however you like. Use a straw for the body and thread the string/yarn through it, tying a knot to make the head. Use glue to stick the butterfly to the stick and leave to dry. Tip: this is fiddly – ask an adult to help!

The Caterpillar crawls into the Chrysalis, and as you push him in… out flies the butterfly!
Have fun!
