Icebreaker is a great introduction to the adult romance genre. I really enjoyed this enemies to lover’s novel and there are some great comedic moments. Although it’s written with a very casual tone, the author really plays into the young adult age group of the story and the references to text chat don’t detract from the readability like it does in similar books.
The story line feels rushed towards the end of the book, only taking ten chapters instead of developing the finale with the same care and attention as the rest of the book. That worrying moment when everything is going great in the story but there are still eighty or, so pages left, which is just enough time for everything to go wrong but not quite enough time to fully explore the end of the book.
Despite the slightly rushed ending, Icebreaker was truly an enjoyable read that I struggled to put down. With well-developed characters, realistic scenery, and some steamy romance, this novel is definitely worth the read.
