Welcome to our Sensory Space at Midsomer Norton Library.
What is our sensory space and who is it for?
It’s a place to take a sensory break away from the lights and sounds of the main library.
How do I book?
Tickets are free, but you need to book to use the Sensory Space.
Bookable on Eventbrite.
Drop in hours: From 3.30 – 4.30pm the Sensory Space is open for drop ins. For this hour there is no need to book, the room is available on a first come, first serve basis.
Getting feedback from you
When you visit, please tell us what you think of the room. This will help us understand what you think about the space and whether it is somewhere you would visit again. You can follow the QR on the poster in the room to fill out our online feedback form, write on the whiteboard in the room or talk to a member of staff in the library. Or, you can give us feedback by following this link.
Supporting your access to the library and sensory space
Sometimes it helps to know what to expect before visiting a new place, so we have made this downloadable Autism friendly guide to visiting Midsomer Norton Library
Download the Guide to Visiting Midsomer Norton Library
We have also made a guide to show you what is in the sensory space. You will also find a copy of this guide in the room.

We have introduced new Sensory Explorer Bags for children and young people with additional needs to borrow and use in our spaces, including Bath Housing and Welfare Advice Services and the Mobile Library.
Sensory Explorer Bags provide a sensory and tactile self-led offer for families and all include a guide to the space, ear defenders and a fidget toy. Ask staff for more information.
Supporting material for users with autism or a sensory processing disorder
